ARRIVING ON TIME FOR A COURT DATE AT THE RICHARD E. GERSTEIN JUSTICE BUILDING
The following guidelines apply to all Eleventh Judicial Circuit court facilities, but especially to the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building, which experiences extreme building congestion during peak visitor hours.

Due to downtown traffic, parking, security screening procedures and general building congestion during peak visitor hours, it may take 20 to 30 minutes to park and proceed through security. Therefore, all persons traveling to the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building for a court date should build extra time into their travel plans in order to arrive in the courtroom on time.

Courthouse Security: Security screening procedures at the entrance to every Eleventh Judicial Circuit courthouse ensure that court facilities are as safe and secure as practicable for all those who visit and work there.

All persons entering the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building must successfully pass through the walk-through magnetometers and comply with any additional physical screening as required.
In order to minimize delays, visitors are asked to empty their pockets and place all items in the containers provided; place purses, briefcases, backpacks and any parcels on the X-ray machine’s conveyor belt for scanning; remove belts for screening.

Please note that during peak visitor hours, security screening may take up to 30 minutes, therefore visitors should plan their travel and arrival times accordingly.
