Courthouse Visit
Program
Getting a closer
look at the inner workings of our judicial system has never
been
easier. The Eleventh Judicial Circuit offers a Courthouse Visit
Program for school-aged children (any grade), college students,
adults and visiting dignitaries from foreign countries. Participants
get an overview of the State Courts System and how the Eleventh
Judicial Circuit the largest in Florida serves the Miami-Dade County
community. The visit includes a mock trial tailored for students
of reading age or older, a Q&A session with one of our judges,
and a visit to one of our courtrooms to observe a live proceeding.
Interested groups may arrange a guided visit to any of the courthouses
in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit by contacting the Office of
Government
Liaison and Public Relations at 305-349-7189, at least one month in advance. Courthouse
Visits are offered Tuesday through Thursday during normal business
hours. In addition, individual visitors are always welcome to visit
the public areas of the court, including the audience area of
a
courtroom to observe a trial, without arranging for a guided visit.
