What to Expect When Visiting an Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court Facility
Courts must have proper court security to protect the safety of visitors and preserve the integrity of the judicial process. The Eleventh Judicial Circuit, through the Administrative Office of the Courts, provides security safety measures for all court facilities to ensure that all courthouse personnel and visitors are able to conduct their business in a safe and secure environment.
Upon arrival to the courthouse, all visitors will be screened and required to pass through a magnetometer located in a designated security screening area. Visitors will be asked to remove all items from their pockets and place them in a basket to be scanned by an x-ray machine. Items required to be placed through the x-ray machine may include, belts, shoes, wallets, purses, cell phones, laptops, and any other items security personnel deems necessary. A security guard may conduct further screening using a hand wand.
Additionally, please be aware that certain items are prohibited on courthouse premises. If any listed prohibited item is detected to be in your possession when entering a court facility, you will be asked to exit the facility to secure the item elsewhere or dispose of it, before being allowed entry into the facility.
