The Eleventh Judicial Circuit’s Drive Legal program helps eligible individuals restore their suspended driver licenses via community service hours and traffic school when appropriate.
Participation costs $175 and enables drivers with suspended licenses to be removed from collection agencies and pay off fines through community service, ultimately reducing the amount of court costs to be paid. Remaining court costs may be placed on a payment plan if needed. When appropriate, Drive Legal may assign a traffic school course, which withholds a percentage of points from being placed on an individual’s license, which could otherwise result in a point suspension of their driver’s license.
Drive Legal helps approximately 12,000 people each year, with an average of 300,000 community service hours completed – resulting in significant cost savings to the publicly funded criminal justice system and benefits to the community.
