Candidates for Judicial Office Encouraged to Attend Judicial Campaign Conduct Forums May 2 & 3

All candidates seeking election as judges or standing for reelection in 2024 are encouraged to attend the upcoming Judicial Campaign Conduct Forums taking place on May 2nd and 3rd, 2024.

The Forums are sponsored by the Supreme Court of Florida and The Florida Bar Board of Governors and are held every election year with the support of the state’s trial court chief judges, and the Florida Supreme Court’s Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee. They are open to all judicial candidates and campaign staff, the media, and the general public.

“I encourage all incumbent and non-incumbent candidates for judicial office to attend these forums,” said Chief Judge Nushin G. Sayfie. “The Supreme Court of Florida expects that all candidates for judicial office adhere to the highest standards of ethical conduct so that we can maintain the public’s trust and confidence. The campaign conduct forums are designed to assist in this endeavor.”

The Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee provides advisory opinions relating to the application of the Code of Judicial Conduct to specific circumstances affecting judges and judicial candidates.

The Committee’s elections booklet, An Aid to Understanding Canon 7, along with other materials, are available on the Florida Supreme Court website here.
