COVID-19 Advisory #11: Self-Monitoring Notice

COVID-19 ADVISORY #11

SELF-MONITORING NOTICE

The Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department on Tuesday issued the attached statement regarding three officers who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease COVID-19.

One officer was not assigned to the courts. The other two officers worked at the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building, 1351 NW 12 Street, and worked in the following courtrooms on the following dates:

Officer 1: Mon. 3/16/20, Courtroom 2-7, Judge Marlene Fernandez-Karavetsos

Tues. 3/17/20, Courtroom 2-7, Judge Laura Cruz

Wed. 3/18/20, Courtroom 2-7, Judge Laura Cruz

Thurs. 3/19/20, Courtroom 2-7, Judge Laura Cruz

Officer 2: Tues. 3/17/20, Courtroom 3-2, Judge Andrea Wolfson

Wed. 3/18/20, Courtroom 7-2, Judge Alberto Milian

Persons who were in these locations on the dates listed above should follow the self-monitoring steps outlined in the Centers for Disease Control website at: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/php/risk-assessment.html for the next 14 days:

  • Remain alert for subjective fever, cough, or difficulty breathing.
  • If they feel feverish or develop cough or difficulty breathing during the self-observation period, they should take their temperature, self-isolate, limit contact with others, and seek advice by telephone from a healthcare provider or their local health department to determine whether medical evaluation is needed.

Self-monitoring means people should monitor themselves for fever by taking their temperatures twice a day and remain alert for cough or difficulty breathing. If they feel feverish or develop measured fever, cough, or difficulty breathing during the self-monitoring period, they should self-isolate, limit contact with others, and seek advice by telephone from a healthcare provider or their local health department to determine whether medical evaluation is needed.
