The Honorable Bertila Soto, Chief Judge of the Miami-Dade Courts, has temporarily suspended jury trials through January 31, 2021 in order to protect the health and safety of the community and court staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. This was determined in consideration of the rise in new COVID-19 cases throughout Florida and Miami-Dade County and the upcoming holidays.
Only jury trials are affected by this temporary suspension, which will remain in effect through January 31, 2021.
All other court proceedings shall continue as scheduled, and any jury trials scheduled for February 1, 2021 and beyond need not be re-scheduled.
The Miami-Dade Courts continue to operate under Phase 2 COVID-19 Emergency Operations until further notice.
