The Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, also known as the Miami-Dade Courts, is proud to announce the launch of a new video podcast series, “Community Connect Online.”

The video podcasts will be posted once a month and will each feature a different division of the Miami-Dade Courts, with an aim to help the public gain a better understanding of how to navigate the courts, and what to expect when they come to court.

Each segment, posted on the Eleventh Judicial Circuit’s website at www.jud11.flcourts.org, is presented in layman-friendly language by a Miami-Dade Courts judge, with links to additional resources for further information.

“Many times individuals experience anxiety when coming to court, not only because of the particular legal issue they may be dealing with, but also because the courts may be unfamiliar territory for them,” said the Honorable Bertila Soto, Chief Judge of Eleventh Judicial Circuit. “Our goal with the podcasts is to demystify the court process and thus make the courts more accessible to the public.”

Community Connect Online is an expansion of the Miami-Dade Courts’ successful town hall meetings program, Community Connect, where judges visit various venues throughout Miami-Dade County to educate the public on legal topics of interest to the community. With Community Connect Online, the public will now be able to access similar educational content via the Internet.

The inaugural video podcast in the Community Connect Online series covers the topic of Drive Legal, a Miami-Dade Courts program that helps drivers reinstate their suspended licenses, and may be viewed by clicking here.
