Miami-Dade Courts Join Broward Courts in Establishing Requirements for Use of Generative AI in Court Filings

The Miami-Dade Courts, in conjunction with the Broward County Courts, have issued new requirements related to the use of generative artificial intelligence (“AI”) in court filings.

Under Administrative Order 26-15 (linked below), attorneys and self-represented litigants who use AI in the preparation of court filings must disclose its use and verify that the information in the court filing was independently verified by the filing party.

“The Eleventh Judicial Circuit recognizes the importance of consistency and uniformity in the administration of justice concerning the disclosure of generative AI use in court filings and submissions and issues this Administrative Order in coordination with the Administrative Order No. 2026-03 issued by the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit in Broward County,” said Chief Judge Ariana Fajardo Orshan.

For more details, see Administrative Order 26-15,Re: Use of Artificial Intelligence in Court Filings by Attorneys and Self-Represented Litigants; Disclosure of Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence,” linked below.
