The Eleventh Judicial Circuit is pleased to announce that the Honorable Ariana Fajardo Orshan has been elected Chief Judge of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit – the Miami-Dade Courts.

"It is an honor to be chosen for this role, and I look forward to working with our outstanding judges and Eleventh Circuit team in providing justice to the people of our community," Chief Judge-Elect Fajardo Orshan said.

Chief Judge-Elect Fajardo Orshan will succeed the Honorable Nushin G. Sayfie, who has served as Chief Judge since July 2021. Her current term will expire on June 30, 2025. Chief Judge-Elect Fajardo Orshan will assume her new post on July 1, 2025.

“It has been my greatest privilege to serve as the chief judge of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit these last four years,“ said Chief Judge Sayfie. “I wish Judge Fajardo Orshan all the best and will do all I can to assist her in the transition. I remain devoted to the mission of our circuit, to serve the people of Miami-Dade County.”

The Chief Judge has administrative authority over the entire Circuit and is elected to this post every two years by their fellow judges.
