The Lawson E. Thomas Courthouse Center, located at 175 NW 1st Avenue, will reopen on Friday, August 4, 2017, for regular business in the Family and Domestic Violence Divisions. The Probate Division will reopen on Monday, August 7th.

Lawson E. Thomas Courthouse Center closed Wednesday, August 2, 2017

The Lawson E. Thomas Courthouse Center, located at 175 NW 1st Avenue, was evacuated and closed on Tuesday afternoon, August 1st, due to flooding from a roof drain impacted by significant rain. The building will remain closed on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, for repairs.

Hurricane Irma Advisory #4

 

MIAMI-DADE COURTS AND CLERK’S OFFICES WILL REMAIN CLOSED ON WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 13TH, DUE TO HURRICANE IRMA

 

All Miami-Dade Courts and Clerk of Courts’ offices will remain closed on Wednesday, Sept. 13th, due to recovery efforts following Hurricane Irma. 


All Court proceedings previously scheduled on the dates of court closure (Sept. 7-8 and Sept. 11-13) will be re-scheduled and parties will be notified accordingly. 
 

All bond hearings will begin at 9am at the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building. If there should be any changes to projected bond hearing schedules, updates will be provided.
 

The Miami-Dade Courts, in conjunction with its justice partners and local officials, will continue to closely monitor recovery efforts following Hurricane Irma and will provide future updates as soon as they are available. Any changes to court schedules will be in coordination with local authorities and the Miami-Dade School Board.
