Please be aware that due to growing concerns about the safety of our community and the spread of the Coronavirus and COVID-19 disease, the Lawson E. Thomas Courthouse is closed to the public, except on mission critical matters. 

However, our divisions remain open. The Judge and his/her staff are working and available.   We are able to address most matters remotely via phone conferences and/or COURTMAP and ZOOM.

Remote UCD CALENDAR 

Once your case is resolved,

On COURTMAP:

1. Click on Uncontested Calendar which is under the special set category, for the Division/Judge.

2. Place your case on calendar for your chosen date.

3. Attach the following supporting documents (with an e-file stamp): 
a. Petition or Counter Petition
b. Answer or Answer/Waiver
c. Marital Settlement Agreement and/or Parenting Plan.
d. If the Petition has been defaulted please attach the Order of Default.
e. A copy of the Petitioner's and/or Counter Petitioner’s Valid Driver's License, Florida State ID or Voter’s Registration card (does NOT require an E-file Stamp)
f. Supplemental Affidavit for Remote Uncontested Hearings that MSA and/or PP in best interest of child, signed by both parties. This affidavit is required even if there is no MSA or PP. (please see hearing documents above for a copy)   
g. Financial Affidavits
h. UCCJEA Affidavit

All requests for Uncontested hearings without these supporting documents with an e-file stamp will be rejected.

4. Wait for an email.  Your request for UCD will be reviewed by the JA.   

* Attorneys: you will receive an email stating

                           YOUR REQUEST HAS BEEN APPROVED FOR SUBMISSION OF A PROPOSED FINAL JUDGMENT. 

* Once you receive this email,

                            UPLOAD 2 ITEMS ON COURTMAP UNDER THE PROPOSED ORDERS TILE:

                 1. A proposed Final Judgment. 

                  2. AS A SUPPORTING DOCUMENT, A cover letter advising the Judge that this proposed Final Judgment has been approved for submission by the JA for remote UCD.

                  3. YOU DO NOT NEED TO SUBMIT ANY OTHER DOCUMENTS AT THIS TIME. 

                 WHEN THE JUDGE REVIEWS THE PROPOSED FINAL JUDGMENT, COVER LETTER AND COURT FILE, SHE WILL EITHER APPROVE YOUR REQUEST OR SEND IT BACK TO YOU WITH INSTRUCTIONS. 

                  Any Final Judgments submitted before your case has been approved for submission by the JA will be rejected.

 

Self-Represented Litigants:  You will not have to appear in court. The Judge will prepare a final judgment and send it to you electronically.

courtMAP is a new online Management and Access Platform built upon technology infrastructure from Broward’s Court Management System.

courtMAP combines eCourtesy with online scheduling, online notification/confirmation, and allows judges to create and e-File orders. courtMAP also allows parties to self-schedule their case events - motion calendar, special sets, and trials - and attach the documentation previously submitted via eCourtesy.
