5 Minute Motion Calendar DO NOT PLACE CASE ON 5 MINUTE MOTION CALENDAR TO REQUEST A SPECIAL SET HEARING. See Special Set Hearings. COURT STRICTLY ADHERES TO 5 MINUTES. Several motions per hearing allowed ONLY IF combined, they will take less than 5 minutes to be heard. If either side disagrees that the hearing will take 5 minutes or less, request a special set.
If after the hearing, an order is to be submitted on CourtMAP, state in the order, the date and time of the hearing and what occurred. Orders submitted without this information will be rejected.

***To set a motion calendar hearing, select the date from the Court's availability (found on courtMAP) and submit your supporting documents (filed motion, etc.) when creating the event (setting the hearing) on courtMAP.  DO NOT create multiple events (set multiple hearings) on any one case. Once a green "Success" message appears, the hearing has made calendar.

IMPORTANT: Although the movant and the parties listed on the service list will receive an email indicating that a hearing has been set, a notice of hearing will not automatically generate.  The movant MUST e-file the notice of hearing via the e-portal system.
To confirm a hearing, click on the "docket" tab on the navigation bar and select the event date (the hearing date); the scheduled hearing will appear.

20 or More Pages – The Court will not print documents larger than 20 pages. If the documents submitted thru CourtMAP are more than 20 pages, please submit hard copy to chambers 7 calendar days prior to the hearing. You MUST do both, CourtMAP and hard copy.

Agreed Orders – must state, in the body of the order, that opposing counsel was consulted and agrees. “Agreed” in title only is insufficient.

CourtMAP NEVER SUBMIT DUPLICATE MOTIONS.  If you set the same motion on calendar DELETE THE ONE IN CourtMAP. DO NOT SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING ON CourtMAP: Final and Default Judgments, Motions Setting Foreclosure Sale, Writs of Possession, Motions to Continue Trial (even if agreed), Motions to Withdraw as Counsel, Motions for Orders to Show Cause.

Ex Parte Discovery Motions – Moving party must comply with Administrative Order 06-09 (order available herein).

FWOP – Parties are required to appear regardless of filings.  Only final resolutions (dismissals, settlements) will be excused from calendar.

Cancellations - please fax a NOTICE OF CANCELLATION to 305-349-7245 at Least 24 Hours in advance.

This Section is now using courtMAP and document submissions are no longer available via eCourtesy.

courtMAP is a new online Management and Access Platform built upon technology infrastructure from Broward’s Court Management System.

courtMAP combines eCourtesy with online scheduling, online notification/confirmation, and allows judges to create and e-File orders. courtMAP also allows parties to self-schedule their case events - motion calendar, special sets, and trials - and attach the documentation previously submitted via eCourtesy.
