FWOP Calendar Thursday, April 2, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.:

     1. The FWOP Calendar for Thursday, April 2, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. WILL GO FORWARD. Prior to Thursday, April 2, Judge Ruiz will review each case and grant good cause where the record demonstrates such. If a good cause order is signed by the Judge, YOU DO NOT NEED TO APPEAR. You are free to appear if you wish.

     2. You will receive an invite to join the ZOOM session via CourtMAP. It is very easy to use. Click on the link and it will prompt you. Join the session 15 minutes prior to its start.

     3. Please be patient as everyone is learning these procedures.


     1. All special sets for the week of March 30 are cancelled.

     2. Special set hearings will resume shortly. You will receive prior notification.

     3. Cases with previously scheduled (non-evidentiary) special sets that were cancelled due to the COVID-19 emergency will have priority when rescheduling. The JA will email you to reset NON-EVIDENTIARY hearing.


     1. All foreclosure sale dates have been cancelled through April 17, 2020.

     2. All foreclosure trials have been cancelled through April 17, 2020.

5 Minute Motion Calendar – Do not place case on 5 minute Motion Calendar to Request Special Set Hearing. Instead, call chambers and explain your situation. Several motions per hearing allowed ONLY IF combined, they will take less than 5 minutes to be heard.

Agreed Orders – Must state, in the body of the order, that opposing counsel was consulted and agrees. “Agreed” in title only is insufficient.

Cancellations  – Please fax a NOTICE OF CANCELLATION to 305-349-7245 at Least 24 Hours in advance.


Default Judgments & Final Default Judgments (1) if appearing telephonically, send the following by mail PRIOR TO THE HEARING: complete package including, proof of service for each defendant sought to be defaulted, diligent search and non-military affidavits if relying on publication, and proposed order; (2) after confirming our receipt of package, place case on motion calendar; (3) if appearing in person, bring same to hearing. Court will not sign judgments on CourtMap.

Ex Parte Discovery Motions – Moving party must comply with Administrative Order 06-09 (order available herein).

FWOP – Parties are required to appear regardless of filings.  Only final resolutions (dismissals, settlements) will be excused from calendar.

Motions to Dismiss – Provide a copy of the Complaint. Court makes every effort to return materials after hearing.

Motions to Withdraw – Use Court’s order provided herein. Withdrawing attorney must send signed copy of the order to former client.

Reading Material for Judge – the Court will NOT print any materials. If you want the court to read it, submit it. Deliver materials 7 calendar days prior to hearing.

Telephonic Appearances – Court no longer requires motions. Make arrangements via CourtCall at 888-882-6878.
