  **MARCH 31, 2020 UPDATE**

Coronavirus/COVID-19:   Courthouses are closed for in-person hearings and trials based on public health advisories at the direction of the Florida Supreme Court. The Eleventh Judicial Circuit wants you to remain safe.

We are establishing Virtual Courtrooms. Court hearings in your case that we can hold remotely via video or phone conference will be held on the Zoom platform, which is free to you. Zoom will be used for your hearing unless you request and the court approves another method for your hearing.

You will receive an email from the Court if we are proceeding with your hearing with the information you need to connect through Zoom.  To participate by video, you must click on the weblink you received in the email invitation at the time your hearing is scheduled or call the phone number listed in the invitation to participate by phone. You do not need to download anything or set up an account in order for you to participate in a Zoom hearing.

Please wait until one business day before your scheduled hearing for the court to send you an email containing a Zoom link and instructions.  In cases involving prose litigants, the setting party MUST contact the Judicial Assistant to request the email containing the Zoom link and instructions early so that it may be included in the Notice of Hearing and mailed with sufficient time to allow for proper notice.

Administrative Order No. 20-07:  During remote court proceedings conducted through communication equipment, electronic devices may not be used by anyone for photography, videography, or audio recording of the court proceeding unless the individual has prior approval from the Presiding Judge. Such devices include, but are not limited to cell phones, cameras,
computers, laptops, tablets, digital voice recorders or similar technical devices.

EVIDENTIARY HEARINGS - PLEASE FOLLOW THE EVIDENTIARY PROCESS OUTLINED UNDER "DOCUMENTS".  YOU MUST EMAIL THE JUDICIAL ASSISTANT AT ILPEREZ@JUD11.FLCOURTS.ORG TO ADVISE AN UPCOMING HEARING IS EVIDENTIARY IN ORDER FOR A CLERK TO BE PRESENT AT THE TIME OF THE HEARING.

Five Minute Motion Calendar is heard on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m.  Only one motion per case will be heard.

To set a motion, you need to select an available date and time via courtMAP.  The filed motion and all documents in support of the motion must be attached at the time the hearing is scheduled. Once a green "Success" message appears, the hearing has made calendar.  You must still e-file and serve a Notice of Hearing.  You must allow 7 business days notice.

DO NOT SUBMIT PROPOSED ORDERS THROUGH COURTMAP PRIOR TO THE HEARING.

To cancel a hearing, the party who placed the matter on calendar must cancel the hearing through courtMAP and a Notice of Cancellation must be e-filed.

ORDERS GRANTING MOTIONS TO WITHDRAW MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING LANGUAGE:

ORDERED AND ADJUDGED as follows:
1.         The Motion to Withdraw is GRANTED.
2.         Movant shall mail a copy of this order to CLIENT forthwith.
3.         Within 30 days from the date of this order, CLIENT shall either:
a.         Retain new counsel and have that counsel file a written appearance with the Clerk of the Court, which notice of appearance must include the Florida Bar number and email address; OR
b.         File a written notice with the Clerk of the Court advising that CLIENT will represent himself/herself.  [Note:  If CLIENT is a corporation, trustee or a trust, personal representative of an estate, or otherwise named in a representative capacity, CLIENT must retain counsel.]
4.         Failure to comply with the preceding paragraph will create a presumption that CLIENT no longer wishes to participate in this lawsuit and the Court may sua sponte or on motion of opposing party impose sanctions against CLIENT.  Sanctions may include the imposition of fees and costs, striking of pleadings, entry of default, and dismissal with prejudice.
5.         In the interim, CLIENT is required to comply with orders/notices requiring CLIENT’S appearance in court. THE PARTIES SHOULD NOTE THAT THE GRANTING OF THIS MOTION TO WITHDRAW IS NOT A STAY OF THIS CASE NOR WILL IT RESULT IN A CONTINUANCE OR EXTENSION OF TIME FOR ANY PENDING MOTION, HEARING DATE OR TRIAL DATE.
6.         SELF-REPRESENTED PARTIES AS WELL AS NEW COUNSEL ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR REGISTERING AN EMAIL WITH THE STATE E-PORTAL IN ORDER TO RECEIVE NOTICES, ORDERS, AND EMAIL NOTIFICATION WITH HEARING INFORMATION SUCH AS ZOOM LOG-IN INFORMATION (https://www.myflcourtaccess.com/default.aspx).  Any party or counsel may sign up for text alerts IN ADDITION TO proper registration on the portal. If a party is not able to check an email account regularly, but has a working phone with text capability, the Court strongly encourages signing up for text alerts (https://www.jud11.flcourts.org/Programs-and-Services/Online-Services/Hearing-Text-Alerts).

This Section is now using courtMAP and document submissions are no longer available via eCourtesy.

courtMAP is a new online Management and Access Platform built upon technology infrastructure from Broward’s Court Management System.

courtMAP combines eCourtesy with online scheduling, online notification/confirmation, and allows judges to create and e-File orders. courtMAP also allows parties to self-schedule their case events - motion calendar, special sets, and trials - and attach the documentation previously submitted via eCourtesy.
