Court Closure:  The Dade County Courthouse is closed for in-person hearings and trials due to COVID-19.  All hearings shall be held remotely using the Zoom platform, via video or phone conference. Five (5) days prior to the scheduled hearing, you will receive an email with the information that will allow you to appear remotely. 
Submission of Original Notes: DO NOT FILE ORIGINAL LOAN DOCUMENTS. The original note/loan documents are to be delivered to Judge Peter R. Lopez attention to Chambers 1201, Dade County Courthouse.  Use delivery with tracking. 

LOST NOTE: The Court requires an Indemnity Bond for any Lost Note.

Submission of Evidence:  At least five business days prior to the Evidentiary hearing/Non-Jury Trial, each side must:
1. Mark the first page of each document it intends to introduce into evidence.  (Plaintiff with numbers/Defendant with letters.)
2. Submit to the e-Portal, in the manner detailed below, an Exhibit List, containing the exhibit number/letter, with the corresponding brief description of the exhibit, and all exhibits separately. 
          To Submit:

                               a.  Go to the eFiling Portal;
                               b.  Click on "File Pleading in Existing Case;"
                               c.  Enter Case Number;
                               d.  Once case populates, go to the documents tab, click "Add;"
                               e.  Once Search Bar appears, type "EVIDENCE" and hit "Enter;"
                               f.   Check Off Evidence Submission, then hit "Browse" which allows you to select the respective document to be uploaded; and
                               g.  Click "Save."    
By submitting the documents as indicated above, they go into a separate Evidence Queue that allows the Clerk to access evidence submitted on a particular case. EACH EXHIBIT MUST BE SUBMITTED SEPARATELY. 

3. Upload the Exhibit List and each exhibit separately via courtMap to the hearing/trial event.  The list and each exhibit must be properly named when uploaded for ease of reference.

  • Cases need only to be placed on calendar once, multiple motions can be heard / attached to the single submission through CourtMap.
  • Foreclosure Motion Calendar is on Wednesday (ONLY) at 9:00 a.m. You must give 7 business days’ Notice.
  •  A copy of the Motion and Notice of Hearing must be submitted through E-file, and if the Motion and Notice are not submitted through E-file the Motion will not be heard.
  • Pro Se Litigants are required to file documents in person with the Clerk’s Office.
  • To Cancel a hearing on Motion Calendar, Please submit a Notice of Cancellation via E-courtesy and notify all parties
  • WRIT OF POSSESSIONS: Motions for Writ of Possessions must be placed on Motion Calendar. The Court will Not Entertain Ex Parte Motions.
  • CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations are NOT ALLOWED within 24 hours before the hearing, unless both parties have AGREED to the Cancellation or have reached an agreement on the matter set for hearing.

Commencing AUGUST 13th, 2018 sales cancellation will NO LONGER be heard by the FMC in Courtroom 3-3. 

Sale cancellation motions will now be heard by Judge Lopez in Chambers, Suite 1201, on WEDNESDAY, at 9:00am. 

All motions and notices of hearings must be uploaded to E-courtesy and E-File at least 7 business days before the scheduled hearing. 

There are NO EMERGENCIES.  Please do not wait until the last minute as you have been notified well in advance of the impending sale date.

courtMAP is a new online Management and Access Platform built upon technology infrastructure from Broward’s Court Management System.

courtMAP combines eCourtesy with online scheduling, online notification/confirmation, and allows judges to create and e-File orders. courtMAP also allows parties to self-schedule their case events - motion calendar, special sets, and trials - and attach the documentation previously submitted via eCourtesy.
