Courthouse is OPEN. Most court proceedings will continue to take place remotely, via Zoom. Trials and live evidentiary hearings will take place in Courtroom 2-1 of the Dade County Courthouse.
Submission of Original Notes: DO NOT FILE OR DELIVER ORIGINAL LOAN DOCUMENTS UNTIL I SPECIFICALLY INSTRUCT YOU TO DO SO. If motion is granted the Final Judgment together with the original note/loan documents, copies of FJ, stamped, addressed envelopes and check for Clerk, are to be delivered to my chambers. Use delivery with tracking.
Submission of Evidence for Zoom Hearings and Zoom Trials: At least five business days prior to the hearing or trial, each side must:
1. Mark the first page of each document it intends to introduce into
evidence. (Plaintiff with
numbers/Defendant with letters.)
2. Submit to the e-Portal, in the manner detailed below, an Exhibit List, containing the exhibit number/letter, with the
corresponding brief description of the exhibit, and all exhibits separately.
To Submit: a. Go to the eFiling Portal;
b. Click on "File Pleading in Existing Case;"
c. Enter Case Number;
d. Once case populates, go to the documents tab, click "Add;"
e. Once Search Bar appears, type "EVIDENCE" and hit "Enter;"
f. Check Off Evidence Submission, then hit "Browse" which allows you to select the respective document to be uploaded; and
g. Click "Save."
By submitting the documents as indicated above, they go into a separate Evidence Queue that allows the Clerk to access evidence submitted on a particular case. EACH EXHIBIT MUST BE SUBMITTED SEPARATELY. DO NOT COMBINE DOCUMENTS THAT MAY NEED TO BE INTRODUCED SEPARATELY.
3. Upload the Exhibit List and each exhibit separately via courtMap to the
hearing/trial event. The list and each
exhibit must be properly named when uploaded for ease of reference.

Motion Calendar Days/Time/Location: Wednesdays and Thursdays remotely via Zoom. Motion Calendar hearings are limited to 5 minutes per case. The courtMap system allows two (2) motions per case. Parties on the service list will receive an email from the Court with the information you need to connect to the hearing. It is the responsibility of counsel to provide the Zoom link to anyone not on the service list.
To Make Calendar: Select available date and time via courtMap. The filed motion(s) and all documents in support must be attached when the hearing is scheduled. Once a green "Success" message appears, the hearing has made calendar. You must still prepare, file and serve a Notice of Hearing.
Motions for Rehearing, Reconsideration, New Trial, and other post-trial motions (excluding entitlement to fees and costs): These motions will not be heard on motion calendar. Submit the motion with a proposed order via courtMap to "Proposed Orders."
Responses: Submit the filed Response, if any, via courtMap to the "Motion Calendar" case number and hearing date, prior to the hearing date.
Cancellations: The party that noticed the hearing may cancel via courtMap after it files its Notice of Cancellation. The Notice of Cancellation must specify the reason for the cancellation.
