COVID-19 Advisory #130: Mask Requirement at Miami-Dade Courthouses Rescinded Effective Immediately

Following new guidance forthcoming from the Centers for Disease Control and Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava’s updated COVID-19 guidelines lifting mask requirements, the Honorable Nushin G. Sayfie, Chief Judge of the Miami-Dade Courts, has rescinded mask requirements at all Miami-Dade Courthouses effective immediately. An Administrative Order to that effect will be issued in the coming days.

“I am very happy to announce that due to the drop in COVID-19 transmission rates in Miami-Dade, we are able to rescind our mask requirement at Miami-Dade Courthouses,” said the Honorable Nushin G. Sayfie, Chief Judge. “I’m very grateful to our judges, court staff and court partners for doing their part in keeping everyone who comes through our doors safe.”

Those who are unvaccinated or have health conditions that put them at increased risk of severe disease, or simply prefer to wear masks, are encouraged to continue to wear their masks at all Miami-Dade courthouses, for their own safety as well as those around them.
