#FlashbackFriday Breaking Ground on the Miami-Dade County Children’s Courthouse

August 2, 2024

#FlashbackFriday to 2011 when we joined Miami-Dade County in breaking ground on the Judge Seymour Gelber and Judge William E. Gladstone Miami-Dade County Children’s Courthouse, with hopes to create a more welcoming environment for children and their families.

Completed in 2015, the courthouse features extensive use of natural light, multi-colored windows, and a park-like public plaza with greenery and benches. Artwork throughout the courthouse includes a family of bears in the lobby, peeking out windows and attempting to climb columns.

The building has become a City of Miami landmark and has won several awards for its design and architecture and energy sustainability features.
