Did You Know? Miami-Dade Domestic Violence Division Courts

Did You Know?

Established in the early 1990s, the Miami-Dade Domestic Violence Court was one of the first dedicated domestic violence courts in the United States, and today it is recognized as a mentor court to other jurisdictions across the U.S.

“For 32 Years, our Court has operated in a manner to ensure due process, victim safety, offender accountability and counseling for family members,” said Judge Carroll Kelly, Administrative Judge of the Miami-Dade Courts Domestic Violence Division. “We strive to incorporate nationally recognized best practices in serving families affected by domestic violence in our community.”
