The Honorable Ariana Fajardo Orshan Nominated for U.S. Attorney, Southern District of Florida

President Donald Trump has nominated the Honorable Ariana Fajardo Orshan for the post of U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. If confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Judge Fajardo Orshan will be the first woman to hold this position.

Judge Fajardo Orshan, currently serving in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit’s Family Division, was appointed by Governor Rick Scott to the circuit bench in 2012. During her time at the Eleventh Circuit, she has also served in the Circuit Criminal Division and the Unified Children’s Court.

She was in private practice from 2003 until her appointment to the Circuit Bench in 2012. Prior to that, she was a prosecutor with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, where she led narcotics and organized crime prosecutions.

Judge Fajardo Orshan holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University, and a law degree from Nova Southeastern University.

All at the Eleventh Judicial Circuit congratulate Judge Fajardo Orshan on her many accomplishments.
