Wall of Honor Ceremony 2017

Miami-Dade County Children's Courthouse, June 8, 2017

The judges of the Miami-Dade Courts' Juvenile Division and their justice partners gathered at the Miami-Dade County Children's Courthouse on June 8th to celebrate Wall of Honor 2017, in recognition of those individuals who have made significant contributions to children in the juvenile justice and child welfare system.

Honored this year were:

- Morris Copeland, Director, Miami-Dade Juvenile Services Division - Wall of Honor Award

- Denise Kelly Johnson, Esq., Child Support Division Chief, Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office - John F. Balikes Award
(Awarded posthumously: receiving the award for Ms. Kelly Johnson was Stanley Johnson, Jr., her husband)

- Paws In The Court: special recognition awards were presented to the pet therapy dogs and their handlers, who provide comfort to the children who have to appear in juvenile court under often very difficult circumstances

The Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida thanks the 2017 Wall of Honor award recipients and all the juvenile justice partners for all they do year-round for the children of Miami-Dade County.

Special thanks go to the Dade County Bar Association and its president, Jeffrey Rynor, for their ongoing support of the juvenile court and the Wall of Honor event each year, and to the Humane Society of Greater Miami, whose partnership with the Eleventh Judicial Circuit brings Paws in the Court to the Children's Courthouse.
