#InTheNews: Judge Steve Leifman Speaks to CBS About the Soon-to-Open Miami Center for Mental Health and Recovery

Judge Steve Leifman, Associate Administrative Judge of Miami-Dade Courts County Criminal Division, spoke with CBS Miami recently about the soon-to-open Miami Center for Mental Health and Recovery.

CBS4, which originally reported on “The Forgotten Floor” of the county jail back in 2006, looks at how this first-of-its-kind facility will help those with severe mental illnesses who are caught up in the justice system.

"The illnesses are complex, but the solutions are not. We just have not offered them. It's about relationships. It's about helping people reconnect and once you are able to do that, it really helps them in their own recovery," Judge Leifman told CBS4.
