Eldercaring Coordination

Eldercaring Coordination

Eldercaring coordination is a dispute resolution process in which a professional eldercaring coordinator can be appointed by the court to assist elders, legally authorized decision-makers, and other related parties with resolving disputes in a manner that respects the elder’s need for autonomy and safety.

The appointment of an eldercaring coordinator on a particular case as well as the specific scope of their authority is determined at the discretion of the presiding Judge. To request the appointment of an eldercaring coordinator, prepare and e-file a written motion with service to all parties and provide a courtesy copy to chambers, then set the matter for hearing via CourtMAP.

More information about eldercaring coordination is available through the links below:

Eldercaring Coordinator Roster

The 11th Judicial Circuit has established a roster of qualified eldercaring coordinators (the Roster) available in Miami Dade County. This Roster is a list of those eldercaring coordinators who have informed the court of their ability to serve in our area and provided proof of their qualifications.

Please note that inclusion on the Roster is not an endorsement by the 11th Circuit of any particular eldercaring coordinator. The Roster is not a wheel or a registry; it does not provide for randomly selected or rotating appointments. Inclusion on the roster does not guarantee appointments. Neither parties nor judges are obligated to choose from the Roster when selecting an eldercaring coordinator. Any qualified elder caring coordinator may be requested by the parties or chosen by the court in any given case and the appointment of a coordinator on any given case is solely at the discretion of the presiding judge.

How to join the Roster

To join the 11th Circuit eldercaring coordinator Roster, please carefully review the administrative order below which establishes the Roster and describes the requirements to join and to remain on it. Then, fill out the application form below and submit it via email to Probateregistryapp@jud11.flcourts.org. Applications are reviewed only during the annual open enrollment period, which runs from October 1st to December 31st.
