The Miami-Dade and Monroe County CIT Steering Committee is comprised of community
partners that include law enforcement, mental health and substance use providers, advocates,
and other stakeholders. This committee works collaboratively to meet the needs of persons living
with behavioral health disorders by removing barriers and developing a system-wide community
approach towards appropriate access to services that promote wellness and safety. The CIT
Steering Committee meets quarterly, led by the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Criminal Mental Health
Project’s CIT Program, and hosted by the Department of Children & Families Office of Substance
Abuse and Mental Health. All community members interested in attending the CIT Steering
Committee may e-mail hkaba@jud11.flcourts.org.
