Judge Sosa-Bruzon holds most hearings via Zoom in her virtual courtroom.
Anyone can access the Zoom Platform. It is free to all users. You can access the Virtual Courtroom using a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Alternatively, you may use a regular phone, which will allow you to appear by phone, but not by video. Please note: Any person who intends to testify must appear via video.

The setting party must provide Notice of Hearing with instructions on how to appear using Zoom to the opposing party when scheduling a hearing and must file the notice with the Clerk. The NOH automatically generated by courtMAP is not sufficient as it does not reflect the Zoom meeting information.

Proper courtroom attire must be worn at all times whether in person or via zoom.
All Agreed Orders must be submitted via courtMAP in Microsoft Word format.

In order for your matter to be added to the Judge's Motion Calendar, the notice of hearing and motions(s) MUST be filed with the Clerk.
Written Notice to Opposing/Parties prior to hearing shall be provided immediately after hearing is set by a party, along with a copy of the motion.
MEDIATION: Mediation requests must be emailed to the judicial assistant with contact information for both parties. Do not contact the Mediation Division as they can't set without a request from the Judicial Assistant.
CANCELLATIONS: Setting party must contact judicial assistant via email: Mravelo@jud11.flcourts.org 24 hours prior to the hearing and Notices of Cancellation must be filed. Chambers does not need a courtesy copy of the NOC (unless it is for a special set hearing).
EVICTION MATTERS: To set a landlord/tenant matter, please email the judicial assistant with your request. DO NOT SET ON A 5 MINUTE MOTION CALENDAR.

Notes:
1) Make sure to add physical addresses to service list for a party that has not provided an email.
2) DO NOT SUBMIT ORDERS MORE THAN ONCE. It will reflect as pending until entered or rejected.

3) All proposed orders submitted to "Proposed Orders" MUST be in Word format on the courtMap pre-generated blank order form and must be accompanied with a motion and all supporting documents (i.e. stipulations, returns of service, etc.) or with letter of explanation.
** Please be advised courtMAP automatically adds the case style, order title, judge's signature block, and the Done and Ordered language to the order.
4) If a hearing is scheduled, do not submit an order prior to the hearing unless the parties have resolved the motion and are submitting an Agreed Order.
Please note, if the Motion attached to the Proposed Order has not been e-filed or docketed by the Clerks office the Proposed Order will be REJECTED.

Calendar Call, Trial Scheduling Conferences, FWOPS are held (for the most part) on the first Friday of every month, beginning in October 2023.
Cases with CMO deadlines that need special sets and none are available on courtMAP, can email the J.A. in advance of the deadline, for additional dates.
UNILATERAL SETTINGS ARE NOT PERMITTED unless otherwise stated in an order; CONTACT J.A. FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS
Cancellations: For Special Sets , setting party must email JA at: Mravelo@jud11.flcourts.org 24 hours prior to hearing and file a notice of cancellation with the Clerk.
For Special sets OVER 1 hour please send NOC to mravelo@jud11.flcourts.org AND vjules@jud11.flcourts.org. Also please file it with the Clerk. You may call chambers to confirm your email has been received and the special set hearing has been cancelled. SIMPLY UPLOADING A NOTICE OF CANCELLATION DOES NOT CANCEL YOUR HEARING.
All Motions must be filed with the clerk's office prior to setting a hearing date.
Select your date through courtMAP (review each date separately until you find the amount of time you wish to set for. Doubling on time slots is not allowed).
Your date selection on courtMAP will generate a Special Set Request email to Chambers. Chambers will review your submission and approve or reject.
Once approved, you will be receiving a Notice of Hearing directly from the Court. If you did not receive the Notice of Hearing, please communicate with the Clerk of Court’s office and confirm you are on the service list. You still need to prepare your own NOH with proper Zoom instructions OR proper address and courtroom and file it with the clerk. The NOH generated by cMAPwill not be sufficient.
All Motions to Continue Trial or Strike Trial dates or to Continue a Hearing set by the Judge must be set on Calendar. Any agreement between the parties for a continuance must be approved by the Judge.
Please DO NOT use two (2) 15 minute slots for the same case if you need 30 minutes, otherwise your hearing request will be rejected.
Special Sets longer than 30 minutes, such as Attorney's Fees Hearings, Non Jury Trials, Evidentiary Hearings need to be set with the judicial assistant or bailiff. Please send an email, copying OC, with your hearing request to mravelo@jud11.flcourts.org AND vjules@jud11.flcourts.org. Please DO NOT use two (2) 30 minute slots for the same case, otherwise your hearing request on courtMAP will be rejected.
