QWho is eligible for Juvenile Drug Court?
A
Juveniles ages 13 -17 that reside in Miami-Dade County and have an alcohol and/or drug problem and the offense is non-violent.
QWho does one get assigned?
A
The Juvenile Drug Court teams meet weekly on Wednesday’s at 12:30 pm to staff all potential clients and review the status of current cases. If the team accepts the youth and the youth and family agree to participate, the case is assigned to JDC. The case will be placed on the calendar for the following Wednesday.
QHow does the program work?
A
The program is comprised of four (4) levels.

    Level 1: Weekly court appearance; 7 pm curfew, daily JPO contacts; weekly narcotics anonymous meetings;
    Level 2: Bi-Weekly court appearance; 7 pm weekday curfew, 8 pm weekend curfew, daily JPO contacts; regular treatment attendance;
    Level 3: Court appearance every three (3) weeks, 8 pm weekday curfew, 9 pm weekend curfew; completion of treatment, regular JPO contacts;
    Level 4: Monthly court appearance; 9 pm weekday curfew, 10 pm weekend curfew; Anonymous meetings; regular JPO contacts
Random drug testing is part of all levels
