Frequently Asked Questions for Online Case Resolution

Related Information

QWhat is Online Case Resolution?
A
It's a way to have court staff review your case; once you have requested a court date, you can  resolve your ticket through an on-line process.
QWhat are the benefits of Online Case Resolution?
A
Time is money! You could get your compliance traffic ticket dismissed and you can do it online. Compliance tickets eligible for Online Case Resolution (OCR) are no proof of insurance or vehicle, registration, no driver’s license carried, or expired vehicle registration or driver's license.
QHow is it different online than appearing in court?
AIt's not. There's real court staff on the other side, making decisions about your case based on the same criteria they would if you went to court in person. It just takes place through this website.
QHow does it work?
A

It's easy. Set your eligible civil traffic ticket for a court date. Once you receive the notice of hearing from the court, simply follow the instructions to go to the site and start your online resolution up to three (3) days before your court date. You must submit proof of compliance online. A traffic hearing officer reviews your documents submitted online and then makes the final decision. You will receive a text or email with the result. If you choose not to submit your case for online case resolution or fail to fully complete the process, you MUST appear remotely as instructed on the notice of court appearance.

QIs there a charge for using Online Case Resolution?
A
There is a $5.00 convenience fee required.
QWhy does the court allow Online Case Resolution?
A
The Eleventh Judicial Circuit is committed to the idea that the Online Case Resolution approach will increase the public’s access to justice in a fair and efficient manner.
QWhat happens if my request is rejected?
A
You must upload proof up to 3 days prior to your scheduled hearing date appearing on your notice of court appearance, or you MUST appear remotely ON YOUR HEARING DATE as instructed on the notice of court appearance, by accessing Zoom.us
QHow do I know if I'm eligible?
A
Just enter your ticket information to determine eligibility. If you are eligible, submit a request. Whether your request is approved is entirely up to the court.
QWhat does it mean if I am ineligible?
A
Try a search. If you are ineligible, we'll tell you why.
QIf my request is approved, will I still have to pay a fine?
A
No. If your compliance documents are valid, your case may be dismissed.
QHow will I know when a decision has been made?
A
We will send an email or text, as well as update the message on your status page when you come back to the website.
QWhen are cases reviewed?
A
Cases will be reviewed Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays.
QWhen can I access Online Case Resolution?
