Motion Calendar Information

Motion Calendar in Division 02 are held in Chambers 615 every Tuesday and Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.

Landlord/Tenant Matters will be heard on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. - as SPECIAL SETS (15 MIN) - NOT ON MOTION CALENDAR

All other Motions may be heard on Motion Calendar except for Motions in Limine, Summary Judgments, Fee Hearings, and Evidentiary Hearings.

COORDINATION IS MANDATORY.

The Notice of Hearing MUST indicate the name of the person the hearing was coordinated with.

Motion Calendar Procedures:

In order for your matter to be added to the Judge’s Motion Calendar, the notice of hearing and motion(s) MUST:

(1) be filed with the Clerk; and 

(2) Scheduled via CourtMAP

** If your Motion exceeds 35 pages (including exhibits), please provide a courtesy copy to Chambers at least 5 days prior to the hearing.

Responses:  Parties wishing to submit a response to a matter set on Motion Calendar must be sure to file said response with the clerk of courts prior to the hearing date. If your Response is over 35 pages (including exhibits),please deliver a courtesy copy to chambers.

Motion to Continue Trial: Motions to Continue Trial may be scheduled on Motion Calendar.

Motion for Reconsideration/Rehearing: Motions for Reconsideration/Rehearing MUST first be filed with the clerk's office and a copy faxed to chambers at 305-349-7581, before setting on calendar. Please DO NOT schedule on Motion Calendar as they will not be heard.

Proposal for Settlement: These Motions may be unilaterally set so long as the opposing party is given 7 days notice.

E-Filing: Efiling is not the same as courtMAP. Matters that are only efiled WILL NOT automatically upload to the Judge’s Motion Calendar. Efiling is for documents to be filed with the Clerk's Office electronically. CourtMAP is used to submit courtesy copies to chambers electronically.

Cancellations: Counsel for the party who placed a matter on the Motion Calendar MUST file a Notice of Cancellation with the Clerk and fax a copy to Chambers at 305-349-7581.

Making Calendar:  In order to verify if your case made the Calendar: 
    a. Log onto courtMAP;
    b. Select “calendar” on top;
    c. Select “show events by case”;
    d. Enter your case number & hit the magnifying glass; and
Your case hearings will populate

courtMAP is a new online Management and Access Platform built upon technology infrastructure from Broward’s Court Management System.

courtMAP combines eCourtesy with online scheduling, online notification/confirmation, and allows judges to create and e-File orders. courtMAP also allows parties to self-schedule their case events - motion calendar, special sets, and trials - and attach the documentation previously submitted via eCourtesy.
