Circuit Judge: Circuit Family Division

If you need to reach Chambers, email is the most efficient method. Inquiries may be directed to the Judicial Assistant at 11thFC17@jud11.flcourts.org.

Please be aware that due to growing concerns about the safety of our community and the spread of the Coronavirus and COVID-19 disease, the Lawson E. Thomas Courthouse is closed to the public, except on mission critical matters.

However, our divisions remain open. The Judge and his/her staff are working and available.   We are addressing matters remotely via phone conferences and/or COURTMAP and ZOOM.

It is important that
ALL ATTORNEYS AND SELF REPRESENTED LITIGANTS MUST SIGN UP FOR AN ACCOUNT AT FLORIDA COURTS E-FILING PORTAL AT https://www.myflcourtaccess.com/for filing pleadings or motions with the clerk, AND

Sign up for COURTMAP at https://www.jud11.flcourts.org/Programs-and-Services/Online-Services/
for submitting emergency motions and proposed orders to your assigned Judge

The Judges will be using the ZOOM platform for hearings.  It is FREE.  If you are unfamiliar with the Zoom platform, please go to the ZOOM training page website to learn how to access the platform for use.

"5-MINUTE" MOTION CALENDAR
The 5-Minute Motion Calendar takes place on Thursday mornings from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.
This calendar is for non-evidentiary matters only. Only 2 Motions per case will be heard on the same day.

This calendar will be heard via Zoom and a Zoom link will be sent the week prior to the hearing.  Please make sure that you check Junk Mail as well as your Inbox since the link is sent directly from CourtMap.

Please note as in a courtroom, you will be waiting for the Host until the Bailiff brings you out of the Waiting Room and into the Hearing Room.  Make sure to name yourself correctly on the Zoom Name, so that the Bailiff can identify you as the correct party for your case.

To set a matter on the Court's Motion calendar for hearing via courtMAP:

1. Search for the Court's Motion calendar availability (found on courtMAP). Prior to setting your Motion on calendar you MUST coordinate with the opposing party. Once there is an agreed upon date, select the date from the Court's motion calendar.
2. Create the event on courtMAP (set your hearing), upload all supporting documents (filed motion, notice of hearing, division special set form, etc.).
*DO NOT create multiple events (set multiple hearings); the system allows for two (2) motions to be set for each case.*
**The Court will not hear more than two (2) motions per case per motion calendar.**
*Once a green "Success" message appears, the hearing has made calendar.

IMPORTANT: Although the movant and the parties listed on the service list at the time the hearing is set will receive an email from courtMAP indicating that an event has been created, a notice of hearing will not automatically generate.  The movant MUST e-file the notice of hearing via the e-portal system.  Include 11thFC17@jud11.flcourts.org in all filings.

To confirm a hearing, click on the "calendar" tab in the navigation bar and then on "view events," select the hearing date; the scheduled hearing will appear.  You can also click on "calendar," then on "events by case" and enter the case number; all upcoming hearings for that case number will appear.
To cancel a motion calendar hearing:
Movants cancelling a hearing shall e-file a notice of cancellation and also cancel the hearing on courtMAP.  To do this, click on: -calendar, -view events, -select the case, -click case status ready, -click cancel from the dropdown, -click save, -select cancellation reason, -click confirm cancellation.

This Section is now using courtMAP and document submissions are no longer available via eCourtesy.

courtMAP is a new online Management and Access Platform built upon technology infrastructure from Broward’s Court Management System.

courtMAP combines eCourtesy with online scheduling, online notification/confirmation, and allows judges to create and e-File orders. courtMAP also allows parties to self-schedule their case events - motion calendar, special sets, and trials - and attach the documentation previously submitted via eCourtesy.
