Video appearance is required for any participant whose testimony is necessary so the judge can administer the oath.

To SET a Motion:
To set a motion calendar hearing, select the date from the Court's availability (found on courtMAP).
Submit your supporting documents (notice, filed motion, etc.) when creating the event (setting the hearing) on courtMAP.
IMPORTANT: Although the movant and the parties listed on the service list will receive an email indicating that a hearing has been set, a notice of hearing will not automatically generate. The movant MUST e-file the notice of hearing via the e-portal system.
To CANCEL a motion calendar hearing:
Only the moving party can cancel the hearing. The moving party must file a notice of cancellation with the Clerk and then cancel the hearing through CourtMAP.

ALL proposed Orders MUST be submitted in WORD format on the courtMAP pre-generated blank Order form and must be accompanied with a motion and supporting documents or a letter of explanation.
ALL proposed Orders MUST be titled in the block marked “Generic Order – You must rename the Order Title”
*When submitting your proposed/agreed order, the title of the order must be typed in the title box provided by courtMAP, NOT in the body of the proposed/agreed order.
*If you are submitting an AGREED order, please select the AGREED order option; otherwise, the order will not be titled "Agreed".
*NOTE: courtMAP automatically adds the case style, order title, judge's signature block and the done and ordered language to the order.
*Final disposition forms must be submitted with all Final Orders to Dismiss and Final Judgments.

SPECIAL SET HEARINGS ARE BEING CONDUCTED REMOTELY USING THE ZOOM PLATFORM
JUDGE DIAZ WILL HAVE SPECIAL SET HEARINGS FOR ASBESTOS CASES THE LAST THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH.
IF YOU NEED ADDITIONAL AVAILABLE DATES, PLEASE EMAIL THE JUDICIAL ASSISTANT.
ZOOM INVITE will be send 2 to 5 days prior to the
hearing.
COPIES OF ALL MOTIONS, RESPONSES, REPLIES, AND ALL
OTHER PLEADINGS RELATED TO ANY UPCOMING HEARING NEEDS TO BE UPLOAD VIA COURTMAP
UNDER SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS AT LEAST FIVE DAYS PRIOR TO THE HEARING.
If you are attempting to schedule a hearing for more than
one (1) hour, you must email the J.A. at velguezabal@jud11.flcourts.org
(copying all parties). Please fill out a Request for Special Set
Hearing form, e-file the form with the clerk's office and email a copy to the
JA together with the motion.
Special Set Hearing Procedures
* All motions MUST be filed with the Clerk prior to scheduling a special set hearing.
* Once approved, you will be receiving a Notice of Hearing directly from the Court. If you did not receive the Notice of Hearing, please communicate with the Clerk of Court’s office and confirm you are on the service list.
Cancellations: Only the moving party can cancel the special set hearing. If you are cancelling a special set hearing, the party who placed the matter on calendar must e-file a Notice of Cancellation with the Clerk's Office and submit a copy of the Notice through CourtMap under supporting documents on the date the hearing was supposed to take place.
A response to the Motion shall be filed and sent to the Court through CourtMAP and to opposing counsel at least five (5) days prior to the hearing. (A response is required).
Please do not send binders. Everything must be uploaded through CourtMAP. (including case law)
We do not take hard copies.
