All  motions must be e-Filed through E-Portal  and reflecting on the docket before requesting a hearing date.

Motions must be set via CourtMAP.

Motion Calendar hearings are limited to  ONE Motion per day per case and is for 5 minutes only.  Motion Calendars are held on MONDAYS  and  WEDNESDAYS at 9:30am (Availability can be found on COURTMAP)

COORDINATION IS MANDATORY. Parties must coordinate with one another.  You must give 7 business days' notice. A copy of the Notice of  hearing must be submitted through E-file.  The Notice of Hearing must indicate the name of the person the hearing was coordinated with and  the date the motion was filed.

A party may set a 5-minute motion or status conference unilaterally ONLY  if reasonable attempts to reach the opposing party have been unsuccessful and the opposing party has been given reasonable opportunity to respond. After receiving a date and time for a unilaterally set hearing, the notice must include the language that undersigned set this matter unilaterally after good faith efforts to reach the opposing party were unsuccessful.

Motion Calendar is conducted by phone. All parties must be on the phone (at the same time) when calling Chambers at 305-349-7012  at the time of the hearing.  

E-FILING:  E-Filing is not the same as CourtMAP. Matters that are only e-filed WILL NOT automatically upload to the Judge's Motion Calendar. E-Filing is for documents to be filed with the clerk's office electronically.

 If you would like  to set more than one motion per case per hearing date, you must DO so on the Special Set Calendar.  Motions that are not five minutes are subject to cancellation.

Motions for Summary Judgment or Final Judgment, Motions in Limine, Motions for Sanctions, Motion for Attorney Fee Hearings, Evidentiary Hearings and Any Motion that will take more than five (5) minutes   Must be set on our special set calendar.

Motions for Reconsideration/Motions for Re-Hearing: Must be e-filed then faxed to Chambers for Judge's review.  If the Motion is more than 10 pages (including exhibits) please deliver  a courtesy copy to Chambers. Please do not schedule on Motion Calendar as they will not be heard.

Notices of cancellation: Hearings must be cancelled on CourtMap. A notice of cancellation must also be e-filed and faxed to  chambers at (305) 349-7191 prior to the scheduled hearing. Counsel shall also call the JA at (305) 349-7012 to confirm the cancellation. Notice must state Reason for Cancellation.

This Section is now using courtMAP and document submissions are no longer available via eCourtesy.

courtMAP is a new online Management and Access Platform built upon technology infrastructure from Broward’s Court Management System.

courtMAP combines eCourtesy with online scheduling, online notification/confirmation, and allows judges to create and e-File orders. courtMAP also allows parties to self-schedule their case events - motion calendar, special sets, and trials - and attach the documentation previously submitted via eCourtesy.
