Special set hearings are
held Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. Hearings
may be scheduled from a minimum of 30 minutes, one hour, or more than one
hour. Fridays are usually reserved for
in camera reviews, Fla. R. Civ. P. 1.200(7)(a) ESI case management conferences and
discovery status conferences.
Please see Fla. R. Civ. P. 1.490 and obtain entry of an order of referral from your Division judge. Counsel may also stipulate to any matter of practice or procedure under Fla. R. Jud. Admin. 1.505(d). All hearings before the GM are recorded and the Court's official reporter, Absolute Digital, Inc., appears on Zoom hearings before the GM. sufficient time for your hearing to make your record. The laws of physics apply in Room 712 DCC. A one hour hearing cannot be
crammed into a thirty minute setting. If
your hearing takes less than the scheduled time, the GM will have more time to
start her Report on your motion.
Setting Hearings: This section will be integrated into CourtMAP
as GM Section CVGM03 on or about December 22, 2020. For the
first few weeks of January 2021, setting all special set hearings will still
require counsel to coordinate the hearing date and time with opposing counsel
and obtain a hearing date from the GM’s Administrative Assistant Sandra
Schatzman at (305)349-7062 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Counsel may upload the motion and any supporting documents via CourtMAP at least five
days prior to the hearing or e-mail to email@example.com. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the GM's Office.
Confirming Hearings: In order to verify if your case made the GM’s
calendar, call Ms. Schatzman at (305) 349 7062 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org,
a. log on to CourtMAP
b. select “calendar” on top
c. select “show events by case”
d. enter case number, click on magnifying glass to locate your case hearings
Counsel for the party who scheduled the hearing shall file the notice of
cancellation with the Clerk. If the case
was set through CourtMAP, please cancel the hearing through CourtMAP. If the motion was set prior to CourtMAP,
please e-mail or call the GM’s administrative assistant, Sandy Schatzman at email@example.com (305) 349-7062.
