Civil General Magistrate Section Details
Special set hearings are held Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. Hearings may be scheduled from a minimum of 30 minutes, one hour, or more than one hour. Fridays are usually reserved for in camera reviews, Fla. R. Civ. P. 1.200(7)(a) ESI case management conferences and discovery status conferences.
Please schedule sufficient time for your hearing to make your record. The laws of physics still apply in Room 712 DCC and on the Zoom platform. A one hour hearing cannot be crammed into a thirty minute setting. If your hearing takes less than the scheduled time, the GM will have more time to start her Report on your motion.
Orders of Referral to Civil GM: Please review Fla. R. Civ. P. 1.490 and obtain entry of an order of referral from your Division Judge. Counsel may also stipulate to any matter of practice or procedure under Fla. R. Jud. Admin. 2.505(d).
Setting Hearings: This section is integrated into CourtMAP as GM Section CVGM03. All special set hearings still require counsel to coordinate the hearing date and time with opposing counsel and obtain a hearing date from the GM’s Administrative Assistant Sandy Schatzman at (305)349-7062 or sschatzman@jud11.flcourts.org. Counsel may upload the motion and any supporting documents via CourtMAP at least five days prior to the hearing or e-mail to sschatzman@jud11.flcourts.org. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the GM's Office.
All hearings before the GM are recorded on the Zoom platform. Requests for hearing transcripts shall be submitted electronically utilizing the Audio/Transcript Recording Request Form, in conjunction with the Prohibition Against Dissemination Form, available on the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court website, www.jud11.flcourts.org under the Digital Court Reporting Services site. Upon full review a final invoice shall be sent to the requester, which must be paid prior to release of the audio recording.
Remote access to virtual hearings: Quick access to the zoom invitations for hearings is available on the Court's website under Virtual Courtroom Directory by searching date or Schwabedissen.
Confirming Hearings: In order to verify if your case made the GM’s calendar,

b. search Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court home page - click on Virtual Courtroom Directory, search by date or by Schwabedissen, or
c. log on to CourtMAP, select “calendar,” select “show events by case,” enter case number, click on search to locate your case hearing Cancelling Hearings: Please cancel the hearing through CourtMAP and send a courtesy e-mail to Sandy Schatzman at sschatzman@jud11.flcourts.org to alert us of the cancellation to assist us to best plan our available time for hearings and in camera reviews.
