Motion Calendar Procedures:
1.Motion Calendar for Div. 22 is held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 9:00 AM via Zoom.
2.Foreclosure Calendar is held on Thursday at 9:00 AM via Zoom.
3. Zoom meeting ID is created for every hearing. The ID is sent out to all parties on the service list prior to the hearing date. It is the responsibility of the scheduling party to provide the Zoom information to anyone not on the service list.
4. Motions to Withdraw must be set on motion calendar absent written consent from the client.
Motion Calendar Cancellations:
1. Motion calendar are set by the attorneys or Pro Se parties involved, so they have the ability to cancel the hearing on the Motion Calendar.
2. If the case was set through courtMAP you must cancel the hearing through courtMAP .
3. Counsel for the party who placed the matter on the Motion Calendar shall file the notice of cancellation with the Clerk's office.
In order for your matter to be added to Judge Butchko Sanchez's Motion Calendar, the moving party MUST:
(1) Attempt to coordinate hearing with opposing counsel. If, despite good faith effort, the moving party is unable to obtain reasonable cooperation in scheduling the matter, the hearing may be set unilaterally. The Court expects that any motion may be heard eleven days after its filing.
(2) Please select day and time on Courtmap.
(3) Motion calendar hearings are limited to 5 minutes per case.
(4) File motion and Notice of Hearing with the Clerk
(5) Upload motion and supporting documents, if any, via courtMAP at least three (3) DAYS PRIOR TO THE HEARING.
Responses: Parties wishing to submit a response to a matter set on Motion Calendar must file said response with the clerk's office and upload documents through courtMAP.
Motion to Withdraw Procedure The process generally involves three key steps. 1. obtaining client consent. 2. Judge Sanchez's form (order Granting motion to withdraw) 3. Setting the motion to withdraw on the motion calendar and providing a notice to all parties.
Making Calendar: In order to verify if your case made the Motion Calendar, please visit courtMAP to confirm date.
Discovery Disputes: Attorneys (and pro se litigants) must make every good faith attempt to confer with the person or party failing to meet discovery obligations in an effort to secure the information or material without court action. Sanctions may be imposed on those found in violation of this procedure.
Please be aware that certain items are prohibited on courthouse premises. If any listed prohibited item is detected to be in your possession when entering a court facility, you will be asked to exit the facility to secure the item elsewhere or dispose of it, before being allowed entry into the facility.
